Image Analysis: a New Research Method
Thursday, April 15, Drs. Ion Chiciudean and Bogdan Halic presented a new research method in image analysis field, and the empirical results of a research they conducted within a research grant, The Role and Place of the Romanian Academy in Arts and Sciences Development. The Image of the Romanian Academy in the Romanian Press (1866-1918).
The participants had the chance to become acquainted with the original methodology the two researchers developed in image analysis field, largely presented by Dr. Ion Chiciudean. The empirical results of the application of the method on an impressive corpus of journal articles of the time (now historical documents) were presented by Dr. Bogdan Halic, who focus both on the value of the findings, and the inherent difficulties specific to such a historical approach.
Undergraduate and graduate students, as well as fellow professors at
the Faculty of Communication and Public Relations attended the conference.
A long debated followed the presentation, focusing on topics related
to the methodology it self, as well as on the future projects of the
researchers in continuing their investigation on the image of the Romanian
Academy after 1918.
