EU Communication debated at NSPAS
Thursday, March 18, 2010, the Center for Research in Communication organized another research meeting gathering professors and students of the College of Communication and Public Relations. The guest speakers were Drs. Alina Bârgăoanu and Elena Negrea, and Mădălina Boţan, PhD candidate and member of the Center.
The speakers presented two projects, one in the making, predominantly a teaching project, called the Jean Monnet Module and implemented in the College of Communication and Public Relations last year. During the project implementation, the project team has discovered the research potential of the EU communication topic. Due to the success of the teaching activities within the Module, a research team has been created, whose main research interest covers the topic of EU communication. The team has started collaborating with the Centre for Research in Communication and with a transnational research team led by Dr. Henk-Jan Rebel from the University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht, the Netherlands. They developed a first draft of the project that eventually became an official research project of Euprera organization.
Dr. Alina Bârgăoanu, the academic coordinator of the Jean Monnet Module, and dr. Nicoleta Corbu, the director of the Centre for Research in Communication, participated in the symposium and set up a collaboration with the international consortium that seeks to implement the project called “Communication of the European Union with citizens". The topic of the project is broadly EU Communication, focusing on a specific segment of institutional communication within EU, and, further more, communication between EU institutions and its citizens.
The guest speakers also presented international grant financing opportunities, with details, deadlines and additional explanations that could guide possible applications of researchers from the College of Communication and Public Relations.
