IC6 Quality Indicator Discussion

Thursday, March 11, the faculty members of the College of Communication and Public Relations gathered, at the initiative of the Center for Research in Communication, to discuss the IC6 quality indicator. IC6 is a high education standard (implemented by the CNCSIS (The National Council of Scientific Research in Higher Education) that measures the quality of research of state faculty staff every year. It evaluates five different levels of scientific/research achievements: the capacity to attract funds for scientific research, the capacity of training highly qualified human resources for scientific research activities, the relevance and the visibility of the results of scientific research, the capacity of universities to create and develop products / innovative technologies for business, and the institutional capacity of universities to organize and support scientific research activities.

All faculty members gathered in a common session at the beginning of the meeting to discuss general aspects of the IC6 indicator. The meeting was conducted by the Dean of the College, Associated Professor Dr. Remus Pricopie. They split afterwards into parallel sessions, according to the faculty departments division; each session was conducted by the departments’ heads and aimed at analyzing each member’s activity during the 2009 academic year, as well as future research plans for 2010.

The members of the Center for Research in Communication presented the research plan for 2010, which includes the organization of the annual international conference, a Romanian-American workshop, the French-Romanian annual conference, and other research activities projected for 2010. They also briefly presented the research results of research grants developed within the Center.
